Murgia della Madonna or Suspect Beach
The sunny and quiet beach takes the name from a local tradition according to which the Virgin Mary appeared to a group of local fishermen. Some people called her «del Sospetto» from the karst cave which gives shelter to everyone looking for relax. The bay caressed by the scent of Aleppo pines is less than three hundreds kilometres long and large less than thirty is the first beach with gravel which one can find arriving from the North. Not far away from Peschici it is the perfect destination for travelers looking for an oasis without services for tourists. The beach can be easily entered from the sea or walking for more or less one hundred metres across rocky paths.
